Is Nutrition Important

Why Is Nutrition Important

We all need to eat and drink to live, so it seems to be a good idea, to make what we eat and drink work in the best possible way for us.

If we just eat to satisfy our appetite, there is a very real chance that this food is doing very little to improve our wellbeing.

If we make an effort to get the essential nutrients out of the food we eat, we should gain energy and feel better.

If it is that simple, why don't we all do it?

"Why Is Nutrition Important Just Got A Whole Lot Easier..."

* The main reason why good nutrition is important is that the typical American diet is lacking in real nutritional value.
* It is too high in saturated fat, sodium and sugar. And it is too low in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, calcium and fiber.
* Combine this with a lack of exercise and as each year passes by, we are even less healthy than the last.
* If we make an effort to understand why good nutrition is important, we can actually stop this downward spiral and retake control of our own lives.

* The first steps to understanding why good nutrition is important may be difficult ones and quite foreign to what we tend to believe.
* If we wish to avoid the related diseases, we need to reduce or better still eliminate unhealthy eating habits.
* Exercise and nutrition are important together, so if we can add some exercise to this as well, this is even better.
* With good nutrition, we have more energy and exercise should come naturally.

* The most important step is the first one and deciding that it is time to do someting positive to improve our nutrition.
* Modern lifestyles and shopping habits are generally not helpful to good nutrition.
* If we try to keep things simple in respect of what we eat and what we learn about nutrition, life becomes much easier.
* Drinking sufficient water each day can be a good starting point. Especially in nice summer weather and when we are doing some form of exercise. But all too often we don't drink enough and result in feeling tired, hungry and a headache may be the result.
* If you feel hungry have a glass of water first and see how you feel.
